Rooted in Conservation, Growing for the Future

Carrying forward a tradition of stewardship, we combine Biodiversity Net Gain with responsible food production and active land management.

Who are we?

GK Denniss Farms is a farming business that continues to move with the times and has always had conservation at its core.

It has owned and farmed land in Kent, on the outskirts of London and in East Sussex since the late 1940’s. One of the early adopters of ‘agri environment’ schemes when they were first introduced, the business has always aimed to successfully combine commercial food production alongside conservation initiatives.

“Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) now provides the opportunity for us to take this approach a step further, providing a tool and funding mechanism for long term habitat enhancements that previously haven’t been commercially achievable”

Restoring What Was Lost

Post-war intensification reshaped the countryside, stripping away centuries-old habitats. At GK Denniss Farms, we’re committed to reversing that trend—reinstating diverse landscapes like chalk grassland and floodplain meadows to bring nature back to the heart of the estate.

A Long-Term Vision for Nature

Biodiversity Net Gain supports our ambition to create lasting environmental change. With the Trustees’ vision aligned to the Estate’s ethos, we’re investing in habitat restoration that will mature over decades—not seasons.

Farming with Balance and Purpose

Through considered land management, we’re making space for nature while continuing to produce food—honouring both our agricultural roots and our environmental responsibilities.
